Andrea Fontenot come on down!!! You just got a new car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes that's right after 10 years of Tawana the Tank (1993 Oldsmobile Achieva)...I am now the proud owner of a red 2008 VW Jetta! We got a really nice deal on it too. It's not brand new, but only 16,188 miles on it and got it at $12,997! It's bright red. Like McDonald's, I'm loving it.

OK LJ folks...I pose a question to you.
I know some of you (i.e. Dave) try to buy local products.
What items that are either grown or made locally do you try to buy?
Do you buy from local grocers? (i.e. Matherne's)
Which ones are more expensive?
Is it worth it?
Here's what I try to go local on:
Strawberries Milk Honey Art Candles Beer
However, I find local grocers are far more expensive.

HOLY SHIT....BATON ROUGE = FUCKED!
A transformer across the street from my apartment is on the ground along with several poles...trees etc.
It could be a long time before we get electricity back.
I'm staying iwth my parents in Lafayette...they have all the good stuff...hot meals...electricity...water..etc Even the TV station is in dire straights....Gas supply is running low and that will mean we can't run our vehicles anymore. There's no food really in the station. Today they had to make shift some pb&j and powerade. Can I call myself an evacuee or refugee?
I'm working like a dog...next pay check will be nice...but until then i'm exhausted. I can't even keep my head up.
P.S. living at the place you work is not fun. It just makes the idiocy more obvious |

WVLA-TV morning meteorologist Jesse Gunkel was arrested early Sunday after being asked to leave Walk-Ons Bistreaux & Bar.
Gunkel, 25, posted a $1,000 bond Monday and was released from Parish Prison, where he had been booked on one count each of entering or remaining after being forbidden, battery of a police officer, resisting an officer and public intimidation.
Cpl. L’Jean McKneely of the Baton Rouge Police Department said Gunkel was arrested after he pushed a police officer working extra duty at Walk-Ons, 3838 Burbank Drive.
The officer was escorting Gunkel outside around 1:15 a.m. after he had been asked to leave, McKneely said.
Police aren’t sure why Gunkel was asked to leave Walk-Ons, McKneely said.
The officer sprayed Gunkel with pepper spray when he continued to resist and handcuffed him with the help of two bystanders, McKneely said.
During the struggle, Gunkel threatened the officer’s job, saying he worked for Fox News and was good friends with Mayor-President Kip Holden, McKneely said.
A phone message left Monday for a manager at Walk-Ons was not returned and Gunkel, 1612 Michael Delving Road, could not be reached for comment.
Jeff Hamburger, Gunkel’s news director, said he is aware of Gunkel’s arrest and is looking into it. Hamburger would not comment on whether the incident would affect Gunkel’s employment status at the news station.
Gunkel, a Wisconsin native, was hired as WVLA-TV’s morning meteorologist in June, when the show went on the air. |

Basically I have 2 free tickets to a cooking competition here in Baton Rouge. Does anyone want to go graze with me? It's on September 24, 2007
more details...
Let the mouth watering commence as The American Culinary Federation of Greater Baton Rouge hosts its twenty-third annual Culinary Classic. As if spectacular cuisine from dozens of outstanding chefs brought together from throughout the state isn't enough to fill an evening, there will be live entertainment, a cash bar and both silent and live auctions, too. “The Culinary Classic is the largest professional chefs’ competition in the area," says Chef Ron Sonnier, president of the ACF, who points out that the event's goal is "to provide our guests with the finest dining experience of the year.” Chefs will be competing for gold, silver and bronze medals and for cash prizes in ten categories. The top prize, Best of Show, is worth $3000. Guests also get to vote for their favorite dishes, with the winner to receive the People’s Choice Award. Tickets cost $50 each. To purchase, contact Chef Don Bergeron at (225) 927-3998 or Chef Ron Sonnier at (225) 761-4599. Proceeds will benefit the American Culinary Federation of Greater Baton Rouge Scholarship Program and other programs of the ACF of GBR. 6:30 pm at the Holiday Inn Select, 4728 Constitution Avenue. |

| For all you Dwight Fans Out there |
[Jun. 13th, 2007|12:02 am] |
For all of you Office fans out there...here's a story from fox news.
'The Office' Spin-Off ? | Producer Wants Apology | Diana | Reeling in the Years; 'Today'
'The Office' Spin-Off in the Works?
Is Dwight Schrute about to have his own TV series? That’s the buzz at NBC, where new head of programming Ben Silverman could be thinking about a spin-off from the hit sitcom "The Office."
Silverman is the man who brought "The Office" to NBC from its original Ricky Gervais premise in the U.K., so the notion of a spin-off isn’t that far-fetched.
When I ran into Rainn Wilson, the actor who plays Dwight on the show, at Sunday night’s post-Tony party, he actually brought up the idea, then seemed a little surprised he’d said it out loud.
But Dwight is to "The Office" what Frasier once was to "Cheers," so the idea isn’t that preposterous.
And Silverman is charged with quickly turning things around at ratings-deprived NBC. Putting Dwight into a new office setting isn’t such a bad idea. After all, the Gervais concept seems almost limitless in its appeal and further expansion. |

| 31cent scoop night at Baskin Robbins |
[May. 2nd, 2007|02:52 pm] |
I confirmed with Howard Ward that they will have a truck at each Baskin Robbins in town – they are inviting the community to come out and meet their firefighters and enjoy some cheap ice cream at the same time. Baskin-Robbins is kicking off to the summer season early with a special 31-Cent Scoop Night celebration on May 2, 2007. Ice cream lovers have the opportunity to enjoy their favorite Baskin-Robbins flavor for only 31 cents while paying tribute to local heroes. On May 2, America’s favorite ice cream store is partnering with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. As part of the event, Baskin-Robbins will support these local firefighting heroes by making a donation of $100,000 to the worthy organization. Participating Baskin-Robbins stores will also help raise additional funds for local firehouses by inviting fire departments to the event to collect donations. In addition to 31-Cent Scoop Night, NFFF is a recipient of a $250,000 grant given by the Dunkin’ Brands Community Foundation. Dunkin’ Brands Community Foundation’s mission is to serve those who serve others, especially in times of crisis. Dunkin’ Brands is the parent company of Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’ Donuts.
Even if you're poor I'm sure you can scrape up 31 cents out of your couch to get a scoop...and it's for a good cause! |

how fitting is this survey....
Which fairy are you? (8 results) You are the fairy of the night.Since you being of the night, it is your job to help the moon over to the other side of earth, as the sun goes down. The moon and you have a good connection, and you sit on it usually, watching the stars appearing. You can see the whoel world in a second, watching the people sleep as you stay there and lay awake. The only bad thing is that you usually have to stay up all night, both sides of the wrold, just to make sure that the moon moves succesfully to the other side."Though the town sleeps away, I lay awake and count the stars. You call it insomnia, but I call it, my job."Sorry if this is inaccurate, please take it again to see if you get the one you want to get. These quotes were created by me, if you use them, say that ReaperNinja gave it to you.
